| 1271479 | 2012-04-23 23:09:00 | Windows and Android are extremely different beasts, with very different purposes. This would be akin to asking for a comparison between a bicycle and an airplane. Both are forms of transport, but are very, very different. Do you have any specific questions or queries? At their core, both are an OS kernel that provide a consistent interface for other applications to talk to whatever hardware it's installed on. |

| 1271480 | 2012-04-23 23:09:00 | What specifically are you wanting to know? In terms of file management, it uses a standard linux-style hierarchy which is based off a tree. Everything starts a "/" which is also known as "root". From there each device deviates slightly depending on the vendor, but for the better part your "SD Card" is in /mnt/sdcard Think of it like your "My Docs" folder. Almost everything is kept in there, such as your docs, downloads, pictures, gamesaves etc. |

| 1271482 | 2012-04-24 01:28:00 | Go to Google Play, search for "explorer" and you'll see several free apps which allow you to view photo files, documents, and much more. But it's not quite like Windows and I find I rely more on what I can do from individual icons. If you get too many apps then the memory fills up - find an app that will allow you to move part or all of an app over to the SD card. Try all sorts of free apps but have a clean-up once a week to throw out the least used ones! | coldot (6847) | ||

| 1271484 | 2012-04-24 13:03:00 | It's probably a generation thing. My son has a Sony Tablet S (Android) and I don't really get it. Not a netbook, not a laptop, not a SmartPhone, no Windows XP or 7, only 1 USB port with a specialised plug, no DVD drive....but lots of games, wifi, internet browser.... So how does it work?? He says it's great so who am I to argue. In fact I'd get one if it was bigger and flexible. |
