1271166 2012-04-22 07:39:00 Every so often on the main desktop PC, the internet stops working. The laptops in the house can get online but the desktop won't. To get it to work again, I have been going into the Control Panel and selecting Network and sharing centre. I have been going into the manage network connections section and disable and re-enable the connection to get internet to work.

Is there any reason why it keeps dropping?

1271167 2012-04-22 08:56:00 Could be anything. Try another ethernet cable or filter. Is the desktop wired or wireless? Right mouse on the net icon in the taskbar and select repair or troubleshoot problems. Depending on the version of windows. See what it says. Is it on auto, or did you give it an ip under its properties? Speedy Gonzales (78)

1271171 2012-04-23 04:28:00 First of all I'd look at replacing the network cable between the router and the PC.

After that, make sure you have updated your PC drivers.

After that, try changing the port you plug into in the back of the router.

Finally, I'd replace your router.
