| 1249510 | 2011-12-19 08:07:00 | My Samsung Galaxy S2 phone was plugged into a USB hub, which in turn was plugged into my main laptop. On the USB hub there was a USB output to my hard drive (the Power + Data cable). Another lead coming from the hard drive cable (the Power only cable) was plugged into my netbook. When I turned off my main laptop just now, I noticed that the phone still remained in charging mode. Convinced that it was probably the capacitors in the USB hub letting off the final charge, I did not take a great notice of it until a few minutes later when I realised that it was still in charging state. I unplugged the USB hub from the main laptop to my surprise, the phone still remained charging. I unplugged the phone from the USB hub and it switched to non-charging mode. Then it hit me - the power was coming from the netbook! It was travelling from the Power-only cable, hopping off to Power + Data cable, then entering the USB hub before redistributing to the phone. Fascinating! |
