| 1249372 | 2011-12-18 20:51:00 | www.stuff.co.nz Seems more regulation is required. I would like to see some rules to address the contamination of smoking areas by self-righteousness drifting in from the non-smoking areas. |

The smoking area should be then moved to comply so its pollutants wont poison the normal drinkers. Possibly moved to a preferable position like the middle of a busy road. Personally I have had a gutsfull of getting the second hand smoke from smokers. Its really akin to assault. |

| 1249376 | 2011-12-18 22:30:00 | I almost feel sorry for smokers, constantly being pushed farther out into the cold. Almost. It's a self inflicted problem, no one forced anybody to be a smoker. I used to go into town regularly on a saturday night when smoking in bars was normal. It never bothered me too much as long as it wasn't right in my face but the next day you wake to find your hair and clothes reek of cigarrete smoke, it really is quite unpleasant. Smokers feel like the victims here, but having to go outside to smoke isn't as bad as non smokers having to avoid bars altogether if they don't like second hand smoke. You can smoke in your own home, you can smoke outside. But smoking where other people are forced to share it wether they wish to or not is antisocial and unfair. Smokers for generations have cared little for the effects on others, now it's our turn to care little when they have to go stand out in the rain. While we're at it why don't we ban the flicking of cigarette butts out of car windows and in public places. |
