2012-04-25 10:05:00 | HP . . . hmm quality can be a bit iffy, have used 3x in the past . The newer ones are better but I recon it will take another generation or even two to get them proper . tbh, the only thing going for a macbook is the build quality . Other than that the price is just too high to justify it . OSX is nice enough but the specs, support and price dont add up Build quality, the nicest most useful track pad of any laptop (I'd love to be proven wrong) and they don't put 1366x768 screens on anything over 11 . 6 inches . I really don't get why people worry so little about screen res, the screen keyboard and mouse being the 3 parts you interact with at the end of the day .

2012-04-25 11:52:00 | Then don't buy one...The statement about screen/keyboard/mouse remains true no matter what brand you're looking at. There was actually a new or near new HP EliteBook 8460p with high res screen and 240GB ssd on TM for around the $1300 mark not long ago but appears to have sold now :( EliteBook also comes with a 3 year warranty.

2012-04-25 23:26:00 | interesting 1101 i wouldn't go near Toshiba though What a load of bollocks! We have been selling Toshiba without any problems for years and get less Toshibas for repair than HP, Acer or Lenovo so I don't know where you get your info from? Try reading some qualified reviews. Got 3 x dead HP model come in already this week, last Toshiba had in was about 6wks ago. Macs seem to be the most reliable though IMO.

2012-04-26 02:47:00 | I have a Toshiba Sat S2410-601....its now over 10yrs old and the only thing wrong with it is the battery is dead!...The only lappies im wary of are Acer, although the timeline series has been quite good, and Vaio!....ASUS, great for consumer, business, HP>Lenovo>Toshiba in that order...IMO | SolMiester (139) | |
2012-04-26 07:56:00 | Sony and Samsung laptops are a real pain to find parts for - even replacement power packs are hard to come by. One of the great features of Acer, HP & Toshiba is parts are usually cheap & readily available. | Greven (91) | |
