1271150 2012-04-23 03:20:00 I will probably switch to another drive, I don't want to have to loose data at random moments. ChazTheGeek (16619)
1271151 2012-04-23 07:48:00 One problem with drives replaced on warranty is that you get a USED drive as your replacement model. One that someone else had issues with and was returned. They 'fix' (or conceal) the original issues (like bad sectors) and pass it off as a refurbished warranty drive.

Personally I think the whole process is filthy, but it's what we're stuck with.

1271155 2012-04-23 22:14:00 To sound good :) Would you buy a product that didnt have any warranty at all? Probably not.

I have to say, I have always stood well clear of "refurbished" items as you dont really know what you are getting.

Not allways, usually I get a near equivalent new drive. It depends on who who bought it from.
But yes , Ive had replacement drives that were really noisy (bearings), obviously old worn out refurbs.
