1249207 2011-12-18 18:34:00 So what did you get yourself Beetle?

Or could we turn this into a guessing game?

1249208 2011-12-18 19:06:00 I ended up getting a LG 50" 50PT250 not full HD, It was my second choice because the panasonic i wanted they had no more left in stock. So they popped it in the car and we bought it home and after not know how the stand works, we dot (got) it up and running in minutes and its sweet.

I did look at a lot of 40" machines and decided that the 50" on specials were a better buy. About a hundered more than i wanted to spend. but all good. and the kids were like............ you went to the supermarket? and came back with a tv? sweet! should send you out more often....:D

Cicero life is full of guessing games........ sometimes patience is the best option..... :D i was unable to come back and post details, other than that quick post yesterday.

:)
i happy, the kids happy, the sales people were real happy...:p

1249209 2011-12-18 19:34:00 Have you any idea what it is like, waiting for that kind of news? Cicero (40)
1249210 2011-12-18 22:05:00 You can get Freeview on ANY TV as long as you get the right cables\adaptors to connect the two.

"Not Freeview compatible" just means it doesn't have a DVB-T\S tuner built in.

Even an ancient TV with nothing but an antenna socket could do it, just get a Freeview tuner that has RF out OR one with composite\S-video out and get an RF modulator device as well. (an old VCR can also be used, and is probably cheaper\free)

Pretty easy to do.

1249211 2011-12-18 22:38:00 Try buying a new VCR these days. Snorkbox (15764)
1249212 2011-12-18 23:25:00 You don't need to, find one on Trademe or whatever, heck, get one that munches tapes for free, doesn't matter since all you need is the RF output to work. Agent_24 (57)
1249213 2011-12-19 00:33:00 I'd still prefer one that does not munch tapes. Snorkbox (15764)
1249214 2011-12-19 00:49:00 Well then I guess you'd just have to look a bit harder. Agent_24 (57)
1249215 2011-12-19 01:19:00 I sold mine on trademe recently, think I got $5 and it had hardly been used.
I sold it when I noticed the clock blinking at me one day and realised it had been like that for something like a year or more - wasn't even connected to the TV.
