10782 2001-04-03 01:10:00 How do I clear recently opened documents which are under File in some applications such as Microsoft Word and Media Player 7? Guest (0)
10783 2001-04-03 03:44:00 If you are happy to edit the registry use regedit to navigate your way to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\P layer\RecentFileList, and in the right hand window delete the entries.
I dont have MS Word but its probably the same method.
Regedit.exe is in the \Windows folder.

10784 2001-04-07 08:13:00 You don't have to go poking around in the regestry...
In word go to Tools-> Options
and on the genral tab there is a box to specify the number of files in the recently used list. Set this to zero - problem solved. (you may have to close and open word to check it). (I am not sure if it deletes the filenames from the regestry)
