10738 2001-03-31 06:20:00 Recently, our mouse got itself a life of its own. Most of the time its fine, but occasionally the pointer goes crazy, and I have to lift the mouse off the pad to make sure it doesn't close the window i'm in. Or sometimes it just doesn't want to move. Or it moves in different directions. It also clicks on everything.
We have Windows 98.
We bought a new Microsoft Intellimouse thinking it was a hardware problem. We then installed the new driver from the CD and uninstalled the old one.
This has not solved the problem.
Could anybody help me? Is it a conflicting program? What should I do?

10739 2001-04-02 06:36:00 I have seen a similar occurrence on a couple of our work pc's...I don't have an exact fix for it but it could very well be a hardware problem relating to the way the software driver talks to the PS/2 port...try visiting your motherboard manufacturers website for firmware upgrades to the bios...also check out the motherboard drivers..try to have the latest software drivers for everything...
