| 10893 | 2001-04-05 12:21:00 | Can any one tell me where in the registry the add\remove programs are found. It is annoying to find a PC that has had a folder deleted before a proper uninstall. Reference to these progs. should be able to be removed in the registry, shouldn't they. Cheers DD.. |

| 10895 | 2001-04-07 07:02:00 | Dave, The registry key that holds the information for the uninstall strings is My Computer\ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Uninstall Installing TweakUI off the March PCWorld CD will allow you to remove these entries also without editing the registry directly. Note that deleting these entries will only remove the entry in the add/remove programs folder, the program may left behind other entries in the registry. A registry cleaning program such as that supplied with Norton Utilities may be more suitable as it would compact the registry and allow faster loading. |
