| 10939 | 2001-04-06 08:06:00 | I am having absoutly no luck getting the SB16 emulation running on my SBLive Value card. I want to run my favourite dos games with sound but I have NO dos skills to speak of so I don't know where to start. Since I don't really know where to start on this problem I don't have much idea of what info someone would need to reply to this so all I can do is ask you to post with what info you need to help me and where/how I can find this info. Thanks |

You usually have to tell each dos game through it's setup program, where the soundcard is, ie IRQ DMA etc. This information is usually listed in the SET BLASTER line in the autoexec.bat file, smarter games read these set blaster values automatically. Also check in the device manager that the emulation is set up with no conflicts. To get to device manager right click my computer and click properties. Click the devices tab. To examine your autoexec.bat and config.sys files you can click start and run and type sysedit in the run box. On win 98 you can also type msconfig to get to this. Hope this is of some help, sorry about any tyypos !! :) |
