10911 2001-04-06 01:44:00 Recently i had to reinstall windows 98. That went fine but now my dvd player will not work it keeps saying it cannot start because of a cinmst32.dll file not being able to start. I have tried restoring the appropriate drivers for the dvd player from backup but it still comes up with the same message. Help! Guest (0)
10912 2001-04-06 02:08:00 cinmst32.dll, is that from WinDVD?
Need more info on this I think. What sort of motherboard, videocard, dvd drive.
Whenever you format a drive you need to reinstall the appropriate motherboard controllers first.
If your board is a via chipset you will need to get the latest 4in1 drivers for the motherboard in order to allow DMA processing and to activate the agp slot correctly.
Your dvd player actually doesn't use specific drivers, it is fine on the ol aspi drivers that any cdrom uses, winDVD is the software that reads the DVD and passes the info to the videocard to display.
