10836 2001-04-04 08:09:00 After playing around with x-setup running Windows Me I can no longer auto update from the windows update site. I also run Microsoft Office 2000 which updates okay. I have since uninstalled x-setup but note in the read me files that this does not undo any changes made while running this programme. MY question is... Does anyone know how to restore my settings to their defaults prior to running this programme. I can not use system restore as this programme too has been effected and does not respond as it should even though it is enabled.
Thanking you in advance.

10837 2001-04-05 04:39:00 If you find out I'd like to know too. As far as i can work out it is not a registry entry, but a change in a file.I think the only way to fix it is with a windows delete and replacement. Jack Gruschow Guest (0)
10838 2001-04-05 10:48:00 Hello Glen
I'm not sure what you have changed, but I have tried this on a couple of systems, displaying the problem you have.

1 / Reinstall X-Setup

2 / go to > System > User data >Windows Update Registration > Click on Set Registration Done.

3 Click on Programs ( from the menu bar ) > Windows Update.

Make sure your connected to the net first,

Worth a try for you.
