10823 2001-04-04 01:37:00 I have installed a new Geforce 2 mx 3d card on my Athlon 750 PC. When I try to play Quake 3 I get the error message. ' cannot start opengl subsystem'. I have run glsetup, deleted my old device drivers and installed new device drivers. Non of this helps. Help Please. Guest (0)
10824 2001-04-04 10:56:00 Try downloading and installing say the version 6.50 Detonater Drivers (made by NVidia) which you can get at www.reactorcritical.com if you have not already done so. Guest (0)
10825 2001-04-05 03:40:00 Hi Brendon,

check your desktop display settings are set to at least 16bit colour. Check you are using the latest drivers, not the vanilla ones that come with windows. The latest version 11.01 drivers from nvidia are available from www.the-ctrl-alt-del.com
. If you have directx 7 or greater installed run 'dxdiag', go to the 'display' tab and check you havn't set any of the directx features to 'disabled'
If not then get directx 8a from microsoft or pcworld cover cd, and install it.
Have fun.

10826 2001-04-05 11:19:00 be cafefull of the lastest 'leaked' nvida drivers due to them being a little unstable on some systems. same goes for some of the latest open gl drivers. in a few cases u may need to stick with the vid card manafactures drivers.
also try removeing q3 and reinstalling. make sure u get all the patches, 117,125,127g and 127h. install them in sequence.
if u play online it may pay to do multiple installs and patch each one to deferent versions so you can play on servfers with different protacols.
