Connected through Com Port 1 which has further options of Xon\Xoff, Hardware or None. (Bits throughput is set at 115600) Which is the best combination of settings is optimal for Internet use? |

| 11046 | 2001-04-08 04:51:00 | The advice I follow is ...in 'Advanced Connection Settings' check the 'Use Flow Control' box and mark Hardware (RTS/CTS) only - not Software (XON/XOFF). Then, check the 'Use error control' box and check the 'compress data' box only. The 115600 setting should be correct if there are no other problems with your system. For those unsure where to find the 'Advanced Connections Setings' - open Internet Explorer and go > Tools > Internet Options > Connections > Settings > Properties > Configure > Connection > Advanced. |
