I have a problem that when I log on to the net either web or email, after 8 minutes I get disconnected, this happens twice and the third attempt i get 1.5 hours before disconnection. then I must shut down the whole computer and go through the whole process again. This happens 95% of the time.
I have had the phone lines tested by telecom with an excellent result, Balance 71.6Db and Ground Noise 42Db. I have reloaded O/S twice (win98se) and also re installed IE5.5 twice with no better luck. I have had a new phone line put in the house connecting straight to the computer, still no better. I have brought a brand new computer with 56k ext Daimond stealth modem which has turned out to be worse performace (only 2mins) than my 4yr old rockwell 33.6. My isp say it's not them and don't offer much help at all. I am at the stage where I believe I have tried everything to sort this but never getting any further ahead, just the run around with every one blaming some one else and not having any solutions to offer. If any one can try to point me a different direction it would be appriecated, at the moment I feel I'm banging my head against a wall for the last six months all for some one elses entertainment. |
