| 10965 | 2001-04-07 01:45:00 | Hi, I have just bought a 10 GB hard drive, cover, USB and all hardware for $450, and files transfer beautifully, quickly and without fossicking with dozens of disks (with preinstalled win 98 USB driver already available). Why are people still trying to make us buy tape drives, zip discs and CDs, with junky transfer software??? Anyway, to the point, nothing seems to transfer all the files shown by scandisk on my C drive. Scandisk of C Drive: >> 465 hidden, 60,669 user. Xcopy32 C:\ E:\ /s/c >> 1 hidden, 27,109 user. Explorer drag and drop C >> 149 hidden, 10,522 user MSbackup (exclude files tab empty) >> 60,789 files. Can anyone tell me how to get ALL the files copied, preferably in their own format, not as a qic or other backup file? Symantec ghost has been mentioned, $150. Surely this simple procedure can be accomplished with the software I already have? (win 98). Many thanks, |

Anyway you will need to disable virtual memory first reboot and run xcopy with the command 'xcopy c:\*.* /e /h /k /r e:' and see how you go. | Guest (0) | ||
