| 11318 | 2001-04-14 08:56:00 | I formatted C:\ as I have done countless times before and then used a boot disc to get to a command prompt, after that I installed the mtm cdrom drivers as per usual. And thats where I get the problem, no matter what I try I can't get the D:\ prompt up this time, always says invalid. I don't know any other way to start the windows installation without access to the cdrom. Is there any other way? HELP!!! |

| 11319 | 2001-04-15 04:56:00 | Of the top of my head, I presume you made sure that the DOS CD ROM drivers where on your start up disk. The only other thing I noticed with re-installing via the CD ROM is that DOS always changes the CD ROM drive letter until after the installation, so perhaps you should try drive 'E' for access to your CD ROM. DOS usually reports which drive letter will be used by your CD when you use your start up disk. Good luck. Ron Keilty |

| 11320 | 2001-04-16 12:03:00 | Ron's right. I've had the same thing happen when I re-formatt. I read in a book from the library on win98, that you need to change the drive letter, as it moves up a letter in the process. regards Grant |
