| 11372 | 2001-04-16 05:29:00 | i went to empty this folder via Tools/interney options in IE, but wen i see this folder again thru windows explorer, and i right click and go to properties, it says its got 200 mb in it...26000 files etc, but wen u go into it..it doesnt show the files..hows this..even after restarting, if the folder is empty, wen u rite click it still says 200 mb and heaps of files.wats up with that?.is it sumthing i should worry about?.. replies appreciated thanks, Steve. |

| 11373 | 2001-04-16 06:16:00 | When you view the contents of the folder do you have it set to show hidden files? These files may be there but not visible. Also check how big the index file in this folder is, this file increases in size but never seems to shrink, the only way to remove it is to delete it from the dos prompt. |

Anyway your question: The temp internet files need to be deleted in Dos: ie restart computer in Dos mode type del c:\windows\tempor~1\content.ie5\index.dat This assumes you have IE5 Good luck |

| 11376 | 2001-04-17 12:00:00 | thnx yalls for the suggestions, and i also went to infinisource link posted by one reply, i tried that command to delete the index file, it said delete all files? i typed y, then it said file not found, which means it didnt work huh? ill try again and let yous know how i go..thnx again for the help. i think youre all right, the prob is with the index file. | Guest (0) | ||
