| 11490 | 2001-04-18 04:03:00 | I have two networked computers, Win ME and Win 2K. The Win 2K machine connects to the internet via a 56k modem. The win ME machine has a 28 K modem, but I want it to use the 56k whenever possible. I have set the Win ME computer Tools | Internet Options | Connections to: 'Dial whenever a network connection is not present'. If the Win 2k machine is connected the Win ME machine can access the internet through it, but if the Win 2K machine is not connected I just get the message 'The page cannot be displayed' and the Win ME computer does not try to dial out. What am I doing wrong? All help appreciated. |

Also - enter in the DNS servers on the ME machine. Make sure the dial up network settings on the w2k machine are shared. MS modem sharing is a finiky thing. If you are still stuck check out analogx proxy server at www.analog.com |
