| 11417 | 2001-04-17 01:25:00 | In the May magazine of Netnow I read the article on ' Invisible Intruders ' and to test my vulnerability, went into www.grc.com where I clicked on ' Shields Up' .. 'Test My Shields and Probe My Ports.' Interesting to see the site greeted me by my Windows log on name. Shields Up indicated 1. Internet Port 139 does not appear to exist 2. Unable to connect with Netbios to your computer but going into Probe My Ports indicated All were closed except for one which was in stealth mode and 1. Port 139 - Netbios - Open Going back into 'Shields Up' two days later, I now find the greeting name has been changed to something else. Could you tell me what is happening here and how do I go about closing this open port? |
