11553 2001-04-19 03:08:00 where can I buy a decent PC case?

mid tower type
quiet
good air flow for cooling
good access (side opening cover)
3 x 5 1/4 bays

I currently have a Value series Chenbro with 2 additional filtered low speed fans (working at 7V, 1 exhaust and 1 room air in). Internal temperature is now good, but it is too noisy in an office environment. noise seems to come from PSU and airflow.

Depends where you live. Check ZCOMs cases on www.zcom.co.nz

11555 2001-04-20 02:53:00 most PC cases in NZ ($75 to $250) sound ok in a shop, but when you get them home or to an office environment, they are quite noisy. After 1 hour the noise level is distracting and anoying.

The best I have heard to date are HP Brio's and Kyaks. Brios don't have enough room and heat up with my components, and HP don't sell the Kyak case on its own. (if only they would)

I have found good case and PSU options overseas, but the freight cost is off-puting.

11556 2001-04-20 05:15:00 I have the cheapest, nastiest clone case for $50. Damn it's a beauty, meets all your criteria, and I couldn't tell ya who made alas. It only has made in taiwan on it. Perhaps you might want to get rid of your AMD heater? Guest (0)
