11527 2001-04-18 19:41:00 How do I remove altogether the logon to Windows user/password panel when booting up?

Thanks,

11528 2001-04-18 21:50:00 Assuming you are the only user of the windows 9x machine:
Goto your Windows directory and delete the .pwl file.
Goto Network in your control panel, make sure the 'Primary Network Logon' is Windows Logon - Save any changes.
Restart your machine
When asked for a name and password just click OK. Do not fill in any details. If a confirm box pops up click OK there to.
After this windows should no longer ask for a logon.

NOTE: Windows will no longer save passwords - such as dialup

Alternative: Install TweakUI and using that have it automatically log you on

11529 2001-04-19 09:20:00 Thanks for the info John. I did as you suggested but I still get the Windows User box coming up with my logon user name. Granted I don't have to type in a password, the damn box still comes up! Yes, I have installed TweakUI so that I log on automatically. How do I get rid of the User box altogether?
