| 11684 | 2001-04-22 08:54:00 | I am running Win95. For some unknown reason the Win Log On screen has reappeared after months and will no longer accept my logon password as correct. How can I find out what logon it is looking for? It seems I cannot access the password options I need to correct the problem without first logging on, so I am stuck. Anyone know? Thanks. |

Go to the DOS prompt and enter the WINDOWS directory. Do a DIR *.PWL - what you will see are your password files. Delete the one corresponding to your name by keying DEL passwordfilename. Close the DOS prompt and restart your Win95 sessions. Can't handle the DOS prompt? You can do the same from Explorer.' This tip courtesy of: malektips.envprogramming.com |
