| 11893 | 2001-04-28 03:55:00 | I installed Windows 2000 on my home pc for the added security options it had but now cannot get my soundcard to run under it. The most information I have for my soundcard is that it is a Creative AudioPCI (ES1371,ES1373)(WDM). This is from the system properties. I cannot tell if this specific card is compatible with windows 2000 from searches on creative or microsoft sites because that doesn't seem to be enough information about the card to search with. The pc is a gateway PIII 450, so a few years old, possibly simply not compatible? |

If you ran an upgrade, try running a clean install, as there is a very high likelihood that windows 2000 will have a compatible driver built-in for that card. Did you extract that information from the W2K device manager? If you see that much information it would imply that your card is already set up and the problem is somthing trivial like speakers? |
