| 11881 | 2001-04-28 00:07:00 | I would like to set up a Restore point on a system which has a new instalation of ME. Is it possible to save Restore points so they are not routinly deleted by the OS after 2? weeks |

Once the Data Store reaches 90 percent of the allotted size, it begins to 'purge' older Restore Points on a first-in first-out (FIFO) basis until the Data Store reaches 50 percent of its allotted size. To manually adjust the size of the Data Store, click system in the Control Panel. Click the Performance tab then the File System button. On the Hard Disk tab, adjust the System Restore disk space use slider to the preferred size. This will only prolong the time of the backup since eventually its capacity will be reached. The Restore Point and System CheckPoint files that are created are stored in compressed (.cab) format and are located in the _Restore folder (also known as the 'Data Store') on the drive on which Windows Millennium is installed. It may be possible, although I have not tried it, to make a backup copy of this file. When you want to restore the backup, copy the cab file back into the _Restore folder. |

Checked the Properties which showed 135 files/5 folders/ 59.8 MB. Tried to 'unhide' them. after some argument ME unchecked the hidden box but as soon as I closed the dialogue box it put it back. Obviously protecting itself |
