| 11904 | 2001-04-28 09:30:00 | I have a Mustek Scanner running under Windows 2000 , using the driver that I downloaded (for Win2K) from the Mustek web site. It installs ok and runs fine 'AT FIRST'.... The trouble is a couple of weeks later, when I go to use the scanner the scanner software doesn't respond, as though the scanner is not connected, It is almost as though Plug and Play doesn't know about the device and deletes it from the system. If looking at the control panel properties of Scanners and Cameras, the scanner doesn't appear to be a listed in the menu dialog. I thought maybe I could add one if I had the correct inf file as there ain't a default one. There doesn't appear to be one at Mustek's web site does anyone know of a work around or where I can source the right inf file from. Or is there something else I need to do to 'keep' the Operating system from loosing the scanners setup details. Thanks Mat |

| 11906 | 2001-04-29 07:08:00 | Yes It stays on, I never actually turn it off, although I do reboot the machine reasonably often. I think I know what you are getting at, as I have found some play and play devices do disappear when not turned on before boot up. I have also had a good look at Microsofts HCL list for Win2K and the scanner is not mentioned at all, which is probably why I cannot get the thing to be reliable. |

| 11907 | 2001-05-03 19:09:00 | Hi Matt, intersting reding your problem, I have just upgraded to ME and run a Mustek 600cp which is cuasssin me problems. Whne linked in with the Canon BJC210 printer, the printer will not work. Scanner works ok but the Textbridge that I used to be able to acess through MS Word is not accessable. Also I can only scan through my imaging programmes (I run Adobe and I Photo Plus) and not through the Mustek software. i have contacted Mustek but no response to date, I suspect that it is due to the upgrade to Win ME!! I have already had to buy the latest version of Nortons as my previous version would not run under Win ME Regards AB |
