| 11974 | 2001-04-29 11:52:00 | My problem isn't really a hardware problem, but I have only have a 810MB hard drive (hard to believe is this day & age!) so I'm always looking for ways to free up space.I'm not sure how much space should be left free for the disk to function properly - does anyone know? | 11978 | 2001-04-29 23:52:00 | forget the so called 2x rule(s). if i had 1g of ram would i need 2g of swapfile? i dont think so! the best way to set your min swap file size is to montoir the swap file usuage/size and set it to what u would normally use plus a little xtra for safty. for eg a power user might use 512mb and a light web browseing only user might use 100mb. |
