1272426 2012-04-28 03:59:00 I currently connect to my private emails via a POP3 connection in Windows Vista Mail
I also access our company's account via Microsoft Web Access in Internet Explorer

Wanted to know if I can connect to the company server via Outlook (being fully functional) rather than the Web Based server?
In the Outlook settings there is provision to connect to an exchange server, but have tried all the settings with success

Any help will be much appreciated - - -

1272427 2012-04-28 23:37:00 You'll have to check with your company if they allow external access either by opening the ports for direct access or perhaps giving you access via a VPN connection through their router. Outlook (And other mail clients) uses different methods of connecting to the server than a web based method. Webbnzl (8810)
1272428 2012-04-29 09:00:00 You should be able to setup outlook. You will need to enable Rpc over http/s on the exchange account. CYaBro (73)
1272429 2012-04-29 09:18:00 RPC also has to be enabled on the exchange box & firewall which is not all that common in security conscious orgs. Alex B (15479)

its not RPC as in the bad RPC, its RPC tunneled through HTTPS. you don't and shouldn't (!) have RPC ports exposed on the Internet. You're not going to need to enable RPC on the firewall, its just HTTPS

Microsoft changed the name to Outlook Anywhere in OL2010 I think

1272432 2012-05-01 05:56:00 It's pretty easy to set up and most likely RPC/HTTP will be set up on Exchange. All you need from your end is the webmail link, which you must have if you use it.
