What tends to drive those high-end roles are any sort of large engineering projects or big IT project where there's a lot of recruitment. So bullpoop. |

So what you're seeing is an average of advertised jobs. What you're NOT seeing is a true average wage. I seem to remember being unimpressed with a similar report from Trademe Jobs. |

| 1250408 | 2011-12-23 05:40:00 | If I have a stab at it maybe 60k if you are wanting average. But that can be anything. Arguably IMO Auckland has more highflyers than other major cities in NZ. So you will have the folks earning more than 150k and you will have your bus drivers and your office clerks who are earning more normal wages. What is more impt is maybe what sort of jobs are you more interested in. Speaking of typical office clerks, analysts in the office environment who is just a member, not team leader. IMO they might begin at 35-40k, with a some yrs experience, maybe 60-70k. A senior who does not have managerial responsibility maybe 80k. |
