1250564 2011-12-24 23:04:00 Happy Xmas everyone.
I was watching a program on Television this morning, "Human Power Station", where a swag of Bicycles with generators were supplying power to a house.
My son came up with a brilliant idea. Put all prisoners and wrongdoers on bicycles. Food would be provided in exchange for Kilowatt Hours. Offenders would keep fit. They would also be too exhausted to get up to mischief. They could pay for accommodation in the same way!

Instead of fines for traffic offenses, which often go unpaid, they would have to produce X number of Kilowatt Hours of electricity.

It's not a bike but the concept is the same.

1250567 2011-12-25 08:28:00 Not the same. In this case prisoners would be rewarded with food and board and lodging. It would not be compulsory but no food, no heating, no hot water etc etc if they do not produce any power. mzee (3324)
1250568 2011-12-25 09:19:00 I have one of them go nowhere exercycles in my lounge. I have often thought about attaching a generator to it to run my TV to give me incentive to use it. Bobh (5192)
