12112 2001-05-03 03:06:00 I have an Excel file, over 6MB, with 40 sheets. I am able to add new data and formulas, but when I try to change the formatting of cells, it says 'Too many different cell formats' and doesn't make the change. This problem seemed to appear when I increased the size of the workbook by ading new sheets. Any ideas? Guest (0)
12113 2001-05-03 05:57:00 Hi Bruce

This is posted on the microsoft site as a problem when there are approximately 4000 or more different cell formats.

Have a look at this link for the problem, or if the link doesn't work, search on the Microsoft knowledge base site for Article ID: Q213904

12114 2001-05-03 10:47:00 Hmmm,

A 6MB and growing Excel file with 40 worksheets!!

Is this some sort of esoteric exercise, or does it provide meaningful output apart from ongoing employment for its author??
