| 12093 | 2001-05-02 11:36:00 | I am HOD Computing at a secondary school. We are using Wingate3 to share Internet access over our school network. The network is a Novell network using Novell client version 2 with Win95 and Win98 workstations. The Internet server is running Windows98 SE and is connected to the Net via a Jetstream modem. It was working quite well (even with big groups of students accessing the Internet). About a week ago something happened. Now it works for 3-4 users but if more users than this try to access the Internet then students start getting Socket Error messages and they loose their connection to the Net. Got any ideas about this. Can you help? |

| 12094 | 2001-05-04 02:51:00 | I had an issue with Wingate 2 - workstation net acces slowing to a crawl. Found that Wingate's own cache had not purged as it was set to and had bloated to several 100 Mb. Manually deleting the temp internet files in Wingate's cache (on the server - not the workstation) helped. Your issue may be unrelated but (Jetstream + kids) x multi workstns = mega Mb!! |
