| 12074 | 2001-05-07 15:39:00 | For information on Fatal Exceptions, look up Q150314 at the Microsoft site. Basically, they are due to programs trying to write to areas of memory reserved for other applications. I suspect this problem is due to the motherboard drivers not being fully installed, incorrectly installed, or an incorrect driver has been loaded (ie. not required with your version of Windows). The first place to check for problems would be in the Device Manager (located under System in the Control Panel). Look for exclamation marks against any devices (conflicts etc) , or devices listed under Other (devices which have detected by Windows but their drivers have not been loaded). It is also possible that the BIOS is not configured to support your hard drive correctly. It is even remotely possible (but unlikely) that your hard drive is not fully compatable with the new motherboard. Another option is that the hard drive may have bad sectors. Check the disk surface using scandisk (thorough). Scan disk is located in: Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools. |
