12217 2001-05-06 00:07:00 Passthison.
Agghhh!!!!!
When I load explorer it comes up 'passthison redirect to google.com' or something similar before loading Google, my home page.
passthison.com is the link for one of it's popup ad windows. My daughter must have clicked something. I want it gone and I cant find a contact email address. It is very invasive too. And I have Zone Alarm, Adaware and Innoculate it, but of no use here.
Help!

12218 2001-05-06 01:31:00 ...the first thing to check would be your Home Page setting. It is easy - if you have Internet Explorer go:

Tools > Options > General Tab. In the Home Page Setting you can decide which will be your site; maybe at the moment 'Google' is listed there. Should you wish, just press 'Use Blank' then Apply/Okay. You may return at any time to change that setting.

Usually that will solve your problem - if not another 'tweak' might be called for.

12219 2001-05-06 06:29:00 Thankyou, I have done that, and when explorer is opened this still opens www.passthison.com before redirecting to google. It leaves a 'Windows -Microsoft IE' button on the taskbar that cannot be opened or closed as well as the button for the normal explorer window. It does not disapear until explorer is closed. and spasmodically it causes a pop up window to appear with advertisments. Guest (0)
12220 2001-05-06 23:54:00 Hi Pat Pop up wqindows are a Nuisance!!!!
But there is an answer a little program called POW.
You can get it from the AnalogX website.
You click on i9t and add annoying Popups to it database and nexrt time they pop up it automatically closes them before they can install themselves on your bar. Its wonderful - esp for those sites that don't ;ike you leaving them.
That should solve your passiton problem too.
