| 12281 | 2001-05-07 11:09:00 | I have installed a GeForce 2 MX. After downloading the latest Intel Chipset drivers for the 82371EB chipset, loading Direct 7 which came on the driver disk, and changing the display driver back to SVGA, I installed the card and the drivers. The machine boots fine but during the windows startup where the bar moves along the bottom, It stops. After downloading the latest divers from NVidia and playing around for several hrs with reloading Win98 i have found the the PC does not hang. The machine continues to boot, and despite the fact that the startup screen never moves, you can use the keyboard to start - run - command and do a Dir of A drive. You can shutdown the PC from the keyboard and the PC shuts down. The screen never moves from the startup(till its shutdown). It is not a twinhead - just one video output. What could be the problem. | Guest (0) | ||

If the card is an Asus i feel sorry for you, i have sold and now replaced 18 Asus GF2MX's all after the same length of time of useage, 4 months and they start going nutty not matter what i do, put them in different motherboards, different drivers and O/S's, I just send them back and get a different brand.. Power Colour have been good. |
