12157 2001-05-04 06:50:00 I'm looking at upgrading to 128mb ram. My 333PII currently uses PC-66 Dimms. Are both PC-133 and PC-100 backwards compatible to the PC-66?
Tks in advance.

12158 2001-05-04 07:37:00 Gidday,

Yes they are backwards compatible, but if you put in 133 or 100 the ram will run at the lower speed of 66 the same as the ones you have in your machine.

12159 2001-05-07 14:45:00 Not all PC100 and PC133 RAM is backwards compatable.
It would be wise to check the manufactures spec's as incompatabilities will cause random lock-up's and crashes. The full amount of RAM may not even be correctly detected by windows, DOS, or both.

12160 2001-05-09 01:12:00 I have to agree with 'me too'.
I tried to upgrade ram and had 128 on board but the mtherboard wouldnt recognise it. I was also unable to upgrade the bios as this m/board didnt accept updates. My solution was to get a new m/board etc. and let the kids use the old one.
