| 12392 | 2001-05-09 22:52:00 | Is there any way to disable the windows or network password dialog box appearing when you start up win98? I dont want to enter a password at this point, therefore just push cancel to start. Is there any affect from doing this? | Guest (0) | ||

Restart the computer, when you are prompted for a password leave the field blank and press enter. To bypass network logon, install Tweak UI from the March PC World CD or from Microsofts website. Under one of the tabs there will be the options to provide a default username and password. |

So another possibility to try: My Computer\Control Panel\ Network - highlight Dialup Adapter, & select 'Windows Logon' instead of 'Client for Micosoft Networks' from the pull-down menu. The computer will need to be restarted for the changes to take effect. |
