12664 2001-05-15 10:53:00 I ran Fdisk and lost backup files on my second hard drive. It has not been formatted. Is there a method or programme which will help me retrieve the files on that drive? Guest (0)
12665 2001-05-15 11:52:00 Yes.
Lost and Found by PowerQuest for Fat 16 and FAT 32 partitions.
Diskprobe by MS for NTFS partitions.
EasyRecovert Pro by Ontrack for both

Expect to pay dollars either to purchase or to get someone to do it.
Be aware there are no guarrantees and that it takes time and patience.

12666 2001-05-15 20:23:00 Further to Merlins help, the trial version of Ontracks Easy Recovery Pro allows you to recover 5 files, this may or maynot be enough for you, but will at least give you a free insight into how the utility works (probably the easiest of the three mentioned)also fairly quick for a recovery utility.

a:\fdisk /mbr
I make no gaurantees, but it's free!
