12630 2001-05-14 11:50:00 I wonder if anybody can help with advice on programs, hosting, design etc. to enable me (a novice) to build a website for a local sports team. Members of the team come from far and wide and I thought a web site would be a good way to keep parents and relatives up to date. I have a digital camera, scanner etc. with which to provide the content. I have just started to teach myself about web building but I fear by the time I know enough the season will be over. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

12631 2001-05-14 12:45:00 ...how much of a hurry are you in (??)

One may set up an 'instant' web site - or 'Community' as they are more correctly referred to off many Portals which will provide an immediate Web presence.

This might be an interim solution.

Photo albums, notice boards, chat rooms, newsletters and filing cabinets are among the many services one may use.

These are *free* with set-up and management easily handled with simple UIs.

Popular sites include YAHOO and MSN which is at the following:

communities.msn.com

www.homestead.com

Offers its own sitebuilder programme, no HTML coding required.

www.freeservers.com

No coding required as well

Best of luck

12633 2001-05-16 02:38:00 I use Geocities, which is part of Yahoo, and it is basic copy and paste stuff. Feel free to have a look at www.geocities.com and it is all built with no html. Ok it's not flash, but it gets one up in a hurry, and you can make another on a site somewhere, and take your time, if you want to do it the hard way. Guest (0)
