However, with regards failure to 'auto-log-on' try the following: (i) Open Network Settings dialogue box [either from Control Panel - or right click Network Neighbourhood Icon on Desk top and select properties] and highlight TCP/IP. (ii) Click properties > 'Okay' in the Properties Dialogue Box > and open the Bindings Tab. (iii) check (enable) box marked 'Client for Microsoft Networks' > then Okay. (iv) Open (click on) the 'File and Print Sharing' tab and (for reasons of security) *uncheck* the box allowing others to share your files > click Okay. (v) Click Okay and close the Network Dialogue box. Done. ...To automatically bring up the log-on (or Dial-Up Connection) Box for when opening Internet Explorer and Outlook, try the following: (i) Open Internet Explorer and click Tools > Options > Connections (ii) check (enable) the box marked 'always dial my default connection' (iii) check (enable) the box marked 'perform system security check before dialing' (iv) click apply/okay. Then, the next time you open Internet Explorer - simply fill in your log-on details (password etc) in the 'Dial-up' Connections box and check (enable) 'remember password'. [enabling the 'automatically connect' option is a personal choice] Done. |
