12990 2001-05-21 08:23:00 My Mother has a two year old HP Pavilion running Windows 98
and Office 97. It has always been very slow when closing down
documents in Word and Excel (ie. after clicking File then Close
the document would take up to 30 seconds before closing), however
lately the documents will just not close at all. Pressing control-
alt-delete reveals that the document is not responding. I have
updated the Norton Anti-virus definitions and carried out a scan,
and the system checks out clean. Any ideas ???

12991 2001-05-22 06:03:00 I have the same problem on a Pentium 1 (100Mhz) running Win 95 and Word 97. Takes up to 35 secs to close a simple Word file. Have not got to the stage of Joe's problem. I have tried re-loading Word, virus scan and disc defrag, but it just gets worse. Guest (0)
