13015 2001-05-21 22:33:00 Accidently aquired a Passthison.com homepage and now we cannot delete it. Had some advice from a guy in the business, it didn't work. It is there every day when you turn on computer and go to internet. when you dial in with it there you cannot disconnect from net without pulling the phone plug. You can delete it for awhile but it is back next time you start computer. HELP Guest (0)
13016 2001-05-22 03:23:00 My suggestions:

In your Browser go to Tools>Internet Options.
On the General tab you will find home page, click 'use Blank'.

Right underneath click delete Files under temporary Internet Files and

Clear History under History.

Restart your computer

That should do the trick.

13018 2001-05-22 09:35:00 ...other users have requested help with regards clearing 'passthison.com' as their Homepage setting and, from all accounts, resets and Browser repairs have not corrected the problem.

What a pain!

Try this tool from Fred Langa:

13019 2001-05-22 22:18:00 thanks Lisa but we have tried that and it didn't work Guest (0)
13020 2001-05-23 16:09:00 Try searching the registry for the URL then change it to your prefered home page. To edit registry go Start/Run/type in REGEDIT/ok, then use the find function.

CAUTION: Changing you registry manually can cause the computer to crash. Be sure to back up the User.dat and System.dat files first in case you have to restore the registry.

13021 2001-05-28 04:19:00 Try cheking your startup folder for unwanted programs. Go to Start|programs|Windows Explorer.
Then go to c:\windows\start menu\programs\startup, and check the lower left corner for any hidden items, or check the right pane for any items that you dont want to run when your computer starts.
If there are any - delete them.
