| 13114 | 2001-05-24 11:40:00 | Hello John It's years since I last used Winzip, however I'm pretty sure that it should easily do what you require, if not get hold of the free version of Powerdesk from http:\\www.ontrack.com This utility has it's own zip utility that is every bit as good as Winzip and will definitely do what you require. | 13115 | 2001-05-24 16:42:00 | You can zip up a file or folder to a specified location using winzip32 (older versions must also have this option). Set the desired folder by selecting: options/configurations/folders, selecting the Add Folder option to Open Archive Folder and browsing to the desired location. Adding the file is simply a matter of right clicking on it in Windows Explorer and selecting the correct option from the menu. As for doing this action automatically, I don't think there is a way. | 13116 | 2001-05-24 22:00:00 | If you are using Win9x the DOS program pkzip.exe can be run from a batch file to do exactly as required. For example - if the following text is saved as myzip.bat from Notepad. C:\Utilities\PKZIP -arp c:\Archive\Myfolder.zip c:\Myfolder\* When the myzip.bat file icon is double clicked, pkzip.exe is run from the c:\Utilities directory and all the files and sub directories in the c:\Myfolder directory are compressed and filed in the c:\Archive directory as Myfolder.zip with the directory structure intact. Pkzip is shareware and contains a help file of the switch options. HTH |
