13049 2001-05-22 04:11:00 I am running Win98SE on a fairly high spec HP Pavilion 440BX PIII 128Mb with the onboard graphics card disabled and running a Matrox Millenium graphics card.

I have one consistent problem with it - used to be intermittent (say 75% of the time) but is now 100% of the time.

Whever I shutdown and use the Restart option - OR if software initiates this sequence (eg. after a s/w install or upgrade) - the PC seems to shutdown normally. It then begins the reboot but soon after the 'Win98' splash screen comes up, it stops and reboots again.

Because of the failed boot, it then enters the boot menu and unless I am near the PC at the time to change the option, it then enters Safe Mode as a result.

Any ideas?! I've tried everything I can think of.
