| 13280 | 2001-05-28 01:05:00 | Recently I received a virus via email, which my Norton Anti-Virus 2001 duly dealt with. The problem now is that whenever I start my computer up, Wininit.exe shows on the task bar. When opened on to the screen, there is a message in DOS print reading 'WININIT.EXE cannot be run from Windows'. All I do then is close the message and there appears to be no further problems during the day. How can I stop this happening every day and what is Wininit? | Guest (0) | ||

Click start run then type msconfig go to the startup tab and untick the load=wininit. I havn't been able to find any way of actually deleting the line but this worked for me. Good luck! |
