13420 2001-05-31 07:14:00 My hard disk crashed after subjecting it to a thorough scan disk overnight. My motherboard supports Ultra Ata/dma 33. I am planning to buy a bigger hard disk but I am concerned with the compability of my old system(PII-266),ATX LX6(MS-6117)motherboard to DMA66 to 100 disks now available. I also plan to buy DIMM SDRAM 128 mb to increase my ram capacity. Can an old MB support PC100-133 rams? Cheers! Guest (0)

Your new hard drive will run fine, but at a slower speed due to the limitations of the controller on the motherboard. You will likely be able to use faster memory in your system, but once again, it will run at the slower speed of 66mhz.
