13388 2001-05-30 08:43:00 every time I try to start word I come up with an error'winword has caused an error in WINWORD.EXE . Winword will now close.' It also says to restart which doesn't work. I am running windows 2000 ME with microsoft works suite 2001. My system is PC Company AMD Athlon 1200. I have tried reloading word with no success. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. 13389 2001-05-30 11:27:00 A couple of OEM releases of Works Suite had problems with the Task Launcher Function. (This is launched when you use the Works Suit icon on the desktop.) These problems cause error messages to be displayed when trying to start Word tasks. Usually you can get around the problem by acknowledging the error and restarting the Word task.

To see if your problem is related to the Task Launcher, try starting Word from the Program files list instead of through the desktop icon. This will take you directly to Word, and the templates will be available from the File/New option.

You can also try launching Word from inside Windows Explorer (c:\program files\microsoft office\office\winword.exe).

If this is successful, you can replace existing the desktop icons with your own. The exe files used in Works Suit are located in c:\program files\microsoft office\office\, except for Works which is located in c:\program files\msworks\msworks.exe.
