13357 2001-05-29 10:05:00 I have that much junk on my hard drive i am thinking of reinstalling 98se.What do i save besides address book and bookmarks.What are the things to look out for. Guest (0)

13359 2001-05-29 14:21:00 When reinstalling I generally save personal data, any exe programs downloaded from the net, email, address book and the favorites folder. You can also save things like ICQ settings and the windows\fonts folder (Note: the fonts folder cannot simply be copied back. The fonts have to be re-imported. Other than that, most of the other stuff is easier to reconfigure from scratch rather than trying to restore the old data.

Before reinstalling check that you have all your device drivers otherwise you may have to save their installation programs, and the following folders from c:\windows: inf, system and system32.
