1273815 2012-05-06 04:48:00 My computer has started playing a tune through the PC speaker every 2 or 3 hours. NOD32, MalwareBytes & Combofix all found nothing.

Any ideas?

1273818 2012-05-06 05:09:00 I think it is Auld Lang Syne. Any chance of some assistance in finding the article you speak of? Greven (91)

1273820 2012-05-06 05:21:00 Thanks. My CPU fan developed a crack & I replaced it last week. I was using an after market 90mm fan (4 pin) so I replaced it with a 3 pin 90mm case fan I had lying around.
The fan is spinning & the temperatures are fine, so perhaps it just isn't reporting correctly?

It's quite possible it's plugged in wrongly, so either not running at correct speed or it's not reporting its speed to the motherboard, might even be stopping (speed control is haywire).

1273822 2012-05-10 10:35:00 hmm. I put the stock heatsink back on & am still getting a cheerful tune every now & then. Must be the PSU. Greven (91)
